The 67th Annual Conference of Indian Radiological & Imaging Association IRIA 2014, Agra was organized by IRIA UP State Chapter at Hotel Jaypee Palace, Agra from 23rd Jan. to 26th Jan. 2014.

Dr Bhupendra Ahuja was Organizing Chairman of Organizing Committee, Dr. Vinit Nanda and Dr. Vanaj Mathur were Orgnaising Secretaries. The Scientific Committee was headed by Dr. Prof. R. K. Gupta, Dr. P K Srivastava and Dr. Prof. Mohd. Khalid.

The conference was attended by more than 2500 Radiologist from various part of the country. The Conference was inaugurated on 23rd January by Dr. Jagdish Prasad, Director General of Health Services, Government of India.

Excellent Scientific Program was the highlight of the conference. The total faculty comprised of 38 International Faculty and 140 National Faculty Members. The conference was accredited by UP Medical Council for 16 Credit Hours and by Royal College of Radiology for 29 category-1 CPD Credits.

Five Faculty Members were supported by ISMRM through its outreach program. The faculty members were Dr. Albert Thomas, Dr. Guenther K. Schneider, Dr. Laurie A. Loevner, Dr. Mark Van Buchem and Dr. Suyash Mohan. The topics covered by ISMRM Faculty Members were:

  • MR Spectroscopy – Brain, Breast, Prostate and Bone
  • Pediatric Whole Body MR Imaging Incl. DWI with correlation with PET in Staging of Pediatric Malignancies
  • Body Angio—CT vs MRI
  • Orbital Case Based Pathologies
  • Laryngeal Ca Multiparametric Imaging & Post-op Follow-up
  • Intradural Tumors
  • Orbital Case Based Pathologies
  • Newer MRI Approach to Study Ageing Brain
  • Intracranial Hemorrhage
  • Post Therapy Evaluation of Brain Tumors
  • Neuroimaging in Acquired Metabolic Disorders
     
All these topics were highly appreciated by the delegates and they found their lectures very helpful in day to day practice. The whole Scientific Program was conducted by running six parallel halls for four days. A record numbers of Free Papers & Posters were presented. The total number of these presentations was more than 800.
