Course Description This four-hour course will cover technical issues around using MRI in the
musculoskeletal system. Fast imaging, interventional imaging and comparison with CT
imaging will all be discussed, and participants will come away with a better knowledge of
the new applications of MRI in joint imaging.
Educational Objectives: Upon completion of this session, participants should be able to:
Compare MRI
with other advanced imaging modalities; Explain the role of interventional
MRI in the musculoskeletal system; Explain the role of high field MRI
in the musculoskeletal system; Describe the technical issues
related to high-resolution joint imaging; Evaluate options for open MRI
scanners for musculoskeletal imaging.
