Course Description
This four-hour course will cover the development of technical
protocols for performing body MRI for comprehensive or focused
diagnosis. The course will also cover the application of the new
technical developments and pulse sequences in giving functional
information on different organs from morphological data. The
appropriate pulse sequences and protocols will be analyzed for the
liver-biliary ducts-pancreas, kidneys, uterus, bowel, breast, and the
possibility to employ MR imaging in screening the whole body of
oncologic patients as a primary method.
|
Audience Description:
This course is designed for physicians involved in interpreting and
supervising clinical body MRI; MR specialists who want to incorporate
new, innovative applications; MRI scientists and physicians with an
interest in acquiring the skills necessary to use MR imaging in the
diagnosis of various diseases and in gathering data on the function of
different organs.
|
Educational Objectives:
Upon completion of this session, participants should be able to: |
Evaluate new pulse sequences based on knowledge of current MR technique,
allowing continuous improvement of body MR images;
Incorporate
recent developments for MR imaging such as MRCP for the pancreas and
biliary tract, and MR diffusion and perfusion techniques for the
kidneys;
Apply new
contrast agents in different hepatic diseases;
Evaluate the
possibility of MR imaging in bowel imaging and in screening oncologic
patients for metastatic disease;
Achieve
functional information reflecting physiologic processes. |
