Whole-body MRI for Clinicians

Organizers: Roland Bammer, Ph.D., Harald Kramer, M.D.
Skill level: Basic to intermediate

Overview

This four-hour course provides an open discussion about the new potentials of whole-body MRI. In the beginning technical prerequisites will be defined, and during the course different whole-body MRI exams as well as their value compared to other imaging modalities will be explained. Finally potential new arising applications will be highlighted.

Educational Objectives

Upon completion of this course participants should be able to:
Define prerequisites to perform state-of-the-art whole body MRI exam
Design new whole body imaging protocols for different clinical questions
Identify patients for different whole body MRI applications
Select the correct imaging modality for different clinical questions
Explain the potentials of whole body MRI to colleagues
Evaluate the results of whole body MRI exams in different diseases
Realize the potential of this method for unsolved clinical questions

Audience Description

This categorical course on whole-body MRI is designed to familiarize the radiologists, physicists, industry representatives, residents and advanced technologists with the rapidly developing field of whole-body MRI exams.
The final five minutes of each presentation is reserved for questions.
