|
SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate
to Advanced |
Tuesday, 10 May 2011 |
|
OVERVIEW |
This two-hour
course will focus on artifacts in body MRI. Lectures will address
how to recognize and potentially resolve artifacts in
diffusion-weighted and other sequences utilized for body MRI. The
artifacts will be discussed in a unique and interactive way to
enhance the understanding of the basic concepts behind the artifacts
as well as their clinical significance. |
|
EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES |
Upon completion
of this course participants should be able to: |
«
Recognize various types of artifacts related to diffusion
imaging applied to body MRI;
«
Describe the basic concepts of physics underlying the
occurrence of artifacts in body MRI; and
«
Identify how to resolve some of the artifacts and utilize
other artifacts in the diagnostic process. |
