SUNRISE EDUCATIONAL COURSE
Fast Cardiac Imaging
SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate to Advanced
ORGANIZERS: Daniel B. Ennis, Ph.D. & Harald Kramer, M.D.
Tuesday, 02 June 2015

OVERVIEW
This session will present the technical details and applications of the three essential methods for accelerating cardiac and cardiovascular exams: k-space based methods; kt-based methods; and compressed sensing methods. Practical applications and emerging approaches will be discussed.

TARGET AUDIENCE
Attendees, including medical physicists, with a basic understanding of cardiovascular MRI who wish to exploit the potential for greater acceleration and appreciate the limitations of current techniques. The session will unravel the details of three primary acceleration methods as applied to cardiovascular MRI.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:

  • Diagram the k-space based techniques for accelerating cardiovascular MRI exams;
  • Appropriately use kt-space based techniques for accelerating cardiovascular MRI exams; and
  • Recognize the requirements for compressed sensing techniques that accelerate cardiovascular MRI exams.
