SUNRISE
EDUCATIONAL COURSE |
UTE: Applications & Advances |
SKILL LEVEL: Basic to Advanced |
ORGANIZERS: Neal K. Bangerter, Ph.D. |
Thursday, 04 June 2015 |
|
|
OVERVIEW |
Ultrashort Echo-time (UTE)
sequences are capable of imaging tissues with very short T2, and are
being applied to a variety of applications. These include
musculoskeletal, neuro, pulmonary, and even dental applications.
This sunrise educational series will (1) give an overview of UTE
imaging techniques (Tuesday), (2) bring in experts to present MSK,
neuro, and pulmonary applications (Tuesday and Wednesday), and (3)
discuss the emerging SWIFT and ZTE silent MRI UTE imaging techniques
(Thursday). |
|
TARGET AUDIENCE |
This course is primarily designed
for Investigators interested in learning about the state-of-the-art
in UTE imaging and its applications. While the course will be
beneficial to those with little knowledge of MR physics and pulse
sequence development, the basic technical concepts underpinning UTE
imaging sequences will also be presented at a level suitable for
more advanced investigators. At the end of the course, attendees
will be able to assess the possible utility of the various UTE
sequences to their work. |
|
EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this course,
participants should be able to: |
- Describe the emerging
"silent MRI" UTE techniques (SWIFT and ZTE).
