Session Number: Th03 Overview This course focuses upon application of advanced neuroimaging modalities to study pediatric populations. The session begins by discussing methodological challenges unique to this population. Approaches and results from investigations employing surface-based morphometry and volumetrics, diffusion tensor imaging and functional MRI will then be discussed. Target Audience MD's, PhD's and trainees who are interested in applying advanced neuroimaging techniques, including functional MRI, diffusion tensor imaging and high-resolution anatomic imaging, to study normal neurodevelopment and pediatric clinical populations of interest. Educational Objectives Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to: -Describe state-of-the-art approaches for addressing methodological challenges unique to studying pediatric populations; -Discuss results from recent investigations employing advanced neuroimaging techniques to study pediatric subjects; and -Apply emerging imaging techniques to better address multidisciplinary problems in pediatric neuroscience.
