Breaking the Spatiotemporal Limits of MRSI
Member-Initiated Symposium ORGANIZERS: Fan Lam, Chao Ma, Tom Scheenen
Wednesday, 20 June 2018
Session Number: MIS-16
Overview MR spectroscopic imaging (MRSI) offers unique potential for label-free molecular imaging using intrinsic NMR signals. The field of MRSI has witnessed important technology breakthroughs in recent years, leading to significantly improved spatial and temporal resolution and enabling novel applications. This symposium aims to review and discuss these recent developments, their scientific and clinical applications and new challenges for the field. The symposium will consist of seven invited talks presented by leading experts in the field. Each talk will be 15 minutes for presentation plus 2 minutes for Q&A. These talks cover the whole range of recent technology development for fast high-resolution MRSI including advanced hardware, dedicated excitation schemes, fast spatiospectral encoding strategies, and constraint image reconstructions. Target Audience Physicians and scientists engaged in MRSI research; clinicians who want to learn about new development; and anyone interested in fast MRI/MRSI. Educational Objectives As a result of attending this course, participants should be able to: - Discuss the most recent technological progress in MRSI and their applications; - Summarize the state-of-art data acquisition, image reconstruction and processing methods in MRSI; - Identify and describe the remaining key technical challenges in MRSI; and - Appraise the arising role of MRSI in clinical and scientific applications. |
