Overview Modern MR systems have become more complex, and the development of new MR systems is generally reserved for major medical device manufacturers. This course revisits this assumption in the era of the Maker Culture. Several critical hardware and software components are available in the consumer space, and this course will introduce the attendees to the tools and techniques available to scientists that would like to make their own MR hardware and software. The second day of this four-day Sunrise Educational course will focus on the tools needed to generate a static magnetic field. Target Audience Scientists who are interested in making their own MR hardware and software components. Educational Objectives As a result of attending this course, participants should be able to: -Describe basic principles for setting up a static magnetic field; -Select consumer-grade components for making a simple magnet; and -Construct a simple magnet in their own lab.
