|||||||||
Session Topic: Hands-on Physics and Engineering Sunrise Q&A
Session Sub-Topic: EM Simulations in MRI
Sunrise Session
Skill Level: Intermediate
Session Number: S-M-08 Overview The objectives of this course are: a) to give an overview of techniques and tools used for simulating the interaction of MRI systems and human body from a safety assessment perspective; and b) to give a hands-on-training that demonstrates the use of available simulation tools in MRI applications. Target Audience MRI physicists, engineers, safety officers, and hardware experts. Educational Objectives As a result of attending this course, participants should be able to: -Identify major commercial and open-source resources that are available for EM simulations in MRI; and -Identify major steps in running a successful numerical simulation (e.g., setting up boundary conditions, identifying sources of numerical error, etc.).
