Session Number: SMRT-01 Overview This session focuses on the creation of workflow efficiencies in MRI management, both in research and clinical settings. The first presentation will address the radiographer/MR technologist’s diverse responsibilities in relation to research projects encompassing the research process, good clinical practice, ethical issues and how to ensure data quality. The second presentation will review the optimisation of patient care in the MRI environment and include the different needs specific to age-related populations, disabled or handicapped patients, and any challenges specific to field strength. The final presentation will address structured MRI Training Plans for Radiographers. MRI operator training requirements & challenges, as well as continuing staff education will be discussed. Target Audience Radiographers, MR technologists, radiologists, clinicians, and scientists interested in learning about the clinical translation of technological advances in MRI Educational Objectives As a result of attending this course, participants should be able to: 1. Understand the importance of Quantitative Imaging Biomarkers and its clinical translation. 2. Explain recent developments in the use of holograms for visualising human anatomy. 3. Describe potential advantages and challenges of utilising cutting-edge MR technology in a clinical setting.
