SMRT Ed Session
ORGANIZERS: Claire Mulcahy
Session Number: SMRT-05 Overview This session will focus on function and quantification with reference to differences in imaging adults and pediatrics, specific challenges of pediatric imaging and quantification techniques for cardiac MRI. MR guided cardiac interventions will also be discussed with reference to the potential roles of MRI in planning, guiding, and assessing outcomes. Particular emphasis will be made on applications used in the guidance of ablations for ventricular arrhythmia management. Target Audience Radiographers, MR technologists, radiologists, clinicians, and scientists interested in learning about the clinical translation of technological advances in MRI, particularly in the fields of cardiac imaging. Educational Objectives As a result of attending this course, participants should be able to: 1. Describe differences in cardiac MRI of adults, pediatrics and infants, including technical challenges and clinical needs. 2. Identify potential advantages of direct MRI-guided interventions over integration of previously acquired MRI volumes into conventional x-ray guided interventions. 3. List challenges in analysing cardiac MRI data.
