We proposed
an overlapping-echo method for simultaneously achieving reliable T2
and T2* maps in a single shot. Our method is accurate and immune to B0
inhomogeneity.

2 Parameter maps and the
corresponding error maps from the phantom. (a) The
magnitude of the first image. (b) The magnitude of the second image. The
magnitude is normalized by the maximum value of these two images. (c) The
reference T2 map. (d) The T2 map obtained with our
proposed method. (e) The associated relative error map. (f) The reference T2*
map. (g) The T2* map obtained with our proposed method. (h) The associated
relative error map. The mean relative error is calculated with the values
within the green rectangles, and it is labeled at the lower right corner of
each error map.
