This symposium was proposed by the Pediatric MR study group in collaboration with the SPR/ISMRM committee, and focuses on the safety issues inherent in pediatric MRI. The MIS will address pediatric MRI safety from both a technical and clinical perspective, including an overview of the relevant risks of various aspects of MRI, with a specific focus on the assessment and mitigation of these risks in children.

Target Audience
Radiologists, MR physicists, MR technologists, radiology trainees, fellows, and residents.

Educational Objectives
As a result of attending this course, participants should be able to: explain the MR safety considerations for MR static magnetic fields, gradient magnetic fields, and radiofrequency fields, particularly in the context of pediatric MR|Identify the MR safety considerations and organisational controls needed for maintaining safety in the context of pediatric MRI;|identify the MRI safety considerations for specific MR procedures in infants and children with implants or devices in situ.
