OVERVIEW:
MRI has drastically changed the diagnostic imaging landscape, with ever expanding innovations for probing biophysical tissue properties to aid in disease detection, characterization, and prognostication. However, translating the collective genius of the MRI community in real-world applications requires accounting for the practical considerations of clinical care. These realities have been brought in sharp focus as increased demand world-wide has drawn calls for improved resource utilization and reduced technical complexity. Luckily, MRI is well suited to meeting this challenge in the form of abbreviated or targeted protocols. Come learn how these efficient strategies are changing patient care, and what challenges remain that scientists and clinicians alike must tackle for abbreviated / targeted MRI to reach its full potential.
