Overview
This course addresses standard and new MR techniques for lung imaging, their clinical indications, and the evidence for their use in a diagnostic setting.

Target Audience
Radiologists and physicians involved in thoracic MRI in not only adults, but also pediatrics.

Educational Objectives
As a result of attending this course, participants should be able to:
- Describe state-of-the Art Lung MRI for Cystic Fibrosis;
- Describe state-of-the Art Lung MRI for Lung Nodule and Lung Cancer Staging; and
- Describe state-of-the Art Lung MRI for Pulmonary Hypertension.

However, the clinical use of lung MRI for characterizing and staging cancer is increasing because of its superior tissue characterization and ability to perform without radiation exposure, including contrast-enhanced or dynamic breathing studies and diffusion-weighted images, in comparison to CT scans. I will review the role of lung MRI in the characterization of solitary pulmonary nodules and the T, N, and M staging of lung cancer.
