MRSI: State-of-the-Art and Emerging Methods
Xin Yu
Keywords: Image acquisition: Quantification MR spectroscopic imaging is a unique tool for tracer-free noninvasive molecular imaging utilizing the chemical shift and J-coupling effects of nuclear spins from endogenous nuclei. In recent years, a new class of MRSI methods has also emerged, which uses sparse sampling for fast imaging and model-based machine learning for denoising and image reconstruction. This talk will give an overview of the MRSI principles and state-of-the-art methods and discuss the potential of the new emerging methods. |

MRSI: Application
Moyoko Tomiyasu
Keywords: Contrast mechanisms: Spectroscopic Imaging (MRSI), Image acquisition: Image processing, Image acquisition: Sequences MRSI can visualize the spatial distribution and concentration (or level) of some metabolites in vivo, with potential benefits for clinical diagnosis. MRSI initially utilized phase encoding along all directions and without acceleration techniques. These sequences are time-consuming and yield data with a relatively small number of voxels. They continue to be widely implemented in many facilities today without much improvement. However, extensive research has led to the development of techniques aimed at shortening acquisition time, improving sampling efficiency, and enhancing reconstruction methods. This presentation will introduce the imaging technique of phase-encoded MRSI, as well as several developed MRSI acquisition methods. |
