Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL) is located 8 miles (12 km) away from the Hawai’i Convention Center.

Taxis

Many taxi services offer transportation from HNL to the Waikiki area. HNL airport contracts AMPCO Express to manage the Airport Open Taxi System. Taxi service at the airport is available on the center median fronting the terminal baggage claim areas. Please find a taxi dispatcher authority for assistance. Akamai Arrival Agriculture Declaration Form

UPDATE 31 March 2025: The state of Hawai’i launched their Pilot Program for their electronic agriculture declaration form on 1 March 2025. This form is required to protect Hawai’i’s delicate biodiversity, native plants and animals, and agricultural production. Certain flights arriving from the continental United States are a part of the Akamai Arrival digital form Pilot Program and must complete the form prior to arriving in Honolulu. Attendees can check whether their flight is a part of the Pilot Program here. Please note that ALL American Airlines and Southwest Airlines flights into Hawai’i are part of the Pilot Program.

All attendees from inbound flights from the continental United States are still required to fill out a physical Agriculture Declaration form – attendees are advised to have a pen or pencil packed with their carry-on for this occasion. International flights are subject to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, which enforce Federal and State laws, and are not mandated to submit a declaration form. How To Get Around Town

Local Transportation

Honolulu has a citywide bus route through “TheBus” system. The Kapiolano BL + Kalakaua Ave stop is the nearest stop to the Hawai’i Convention Center and is about a 1-minute walk. Attendees can plan their route here.

Weather

Average temperatures in Honolulu range between 75˚ – 85˚F (24˚ – 29˚C). Due to consistent sunny weather, attendees should wear sunscreen with at least an SPF rating of 30 or higher to protect against UV rays. Sunglasses and hats are also advised.
