For this event, we will have the presence of two distinguished guests, who will share their experiences in the field of magnetic resonance and their professional career:
🔹Dr. Pablo Irarrazaval – Founder of the Biomedical Imaging Center of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and a great promoter of MRI in Latin America. Currently, he is a member of the Board of Trustees of the ISMRM and a candidate for Vice President-elect. He will talk to us about the challenges of creating a new MRI research group in Chile and the growth of this project which has become a reference in the country today.
🔹Dr. Fernando Calamante – Originally from Argentina, he completed his doctorate at University College London, where he was Lecturer in Biophysics. In 2005 he moved to Australia, where he currently heads Sydney Imaging, a research institute at the University of Sydney. With an outstanding career at the ISMRM, he was president in the 2021-2022 period. He will share his experience as a migrant and how we can take advantage of the opportunities offered by ISMRM to strengthen our networks and enhance our careers.

Welcome to the Latin American Chapter of the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine.
The Latin America Chapter promotes opportunities for collaboration between professionals of MR in medicine and biology working or studying in Latin America and professionals working or studying in the rest of the world, especially those with Latin American roots. This includes professionals currently working or with roots in North and Middle America (Mexico, the seven countries of Central America, and the 13 island countries and 18 territories of the Caribbean), Tropical South America (Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, and Venezuela) and the Southern Cone (Chile, Argentina, and Uruguay).
