2022 Outstanding Service to a Division/Chapter Award
This award is given to an individual in recognition of their outstanding contributions and extreme level of effort and service to the operation and effectiveness of an ISMRT Chapter/Division.
The recipient of this year’s award is:
Kylie Walters, B.Appl.Sc, MRT, MHSc.(MRI)
Kylie commenced her professional working life in 1992 at the Royal Brisbane Hospital after completing her Medical Imaging Degree at the Queensland University of Technology. During the following years, Kylie worked internationally in London and Switzerland. Returning to Australia in 2003, Kylie worked in both clinical and research arenas, including large teaching hospitals, research facilities and private practice, along with a stint in the commercial world. Kylie’s extensive MRI experience led to her current combined clinical and research leadership role at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane.
Kylie has a keen interest in education both for herself and the professional. Her Master’s degree, specializing in MRI, was conferred by the University of Sydney where she has since worked as a tutor. Kylie is also a Past-President of the ANZ Chapter of the ISMRT, an organization in which she has been involved since 2012, having previously held the roles of Queensland Representative and Secretary. From 2018 to 2019 Kylie was a member of the ISMRT Chapters and Divisions redesign committee and is currently active in the roles of ISMRT representative on the ISMRM PET/MR study group as well as being a member of the AMPC for the upcoming ISMRT ANC/NZ annual meeting in Sydney this November. Kylie has been an invited speaker at many educational meetings and forums over the years, demonstrating her ongoing commitment to education and her fellow members of the MRI community.
