By Brandy J. Reed, M.B.A., R.T.(R)(MR), 2024-2025 ISMRT President

The ISMRT has had an incredibly successful start this year, and I couldn’t be prouder. Since our meeting in Singapore, we’ve launched four new divisions in our African region: Kenya, Malawi, South Africa, and Nigeria. The enthusiasm and dedication in these areas have been nothing short of inspiring. Its success is a true testament to the global reach and impact of our Society.

One of our most significant accomplishments over the past year has been the continued success of the Future Leaders program. This initiative has hit numerous milestones, thanks to the heart, passion, and relentless support of our members who are committed to advancing education and growth for technologists, particularly in regions where these opportunities are needed most. I’m confident that we’ve only scratched the surface of what this program will achieve.

Additionally, I want to remind everyone about our ISMRT + One membership initiative. This is a fantastic way to help support memberships for our colleagues in low- and middle-income countries (LMIC). Your contribution can make a real difference in ensuring that technologists worldwide have access to the resources and education they need.

As our membership continues to expand globally, the role you play becomes even more critical. We need you, our valued members, to stay active within your local communities. Whether it’s sharing the benefits of ISMRT membership with your colleagues, participating in local chapters and divisions, or contributing to MRI education, your involvement is vital to our collective success.

I also encourage you to join the ISMRM Study Groups. With over 35 study groups available, I’m certain there’s one that will pique your interest. Remember, ISMRT members can join up to three groups at no additional cost. It’s an excellent opportunity to deepen your knowledge and network with peers who share your professional interests.

Don’t forget, we’re still accepting nominations for next year’s governing board, including president-elect, as well as for our prestigious awards. Nominating a colleague is a meaningful way to contribute to the future of our Society. Please take a moment out of your day to submit nominations. You can find all the details by clicking here and logging into the Member Announcements page.

Lastly, keep an eye out for our upcoming annual meeting in Hawaii. The AMPC committee is working tirelessly to craft a program that will be truly one-of-a-kind. Trust me, this is an event you won’t want to miss.

Thank you for your continued support and dedication. Together, we are shaping the future of our profession and ensuring that MRI technologists and radiographers around the world have the tools, education, and community they need to thrive.

Warm regards,
