Welcome

On behalf of the Organising Committee, we are delighted to warmly invite you to attend the 2025 ISMRT Annual MRI Safety Day – Australia, taking place on Saturday 22 March, at The Florey (Kenneth Myer Building) in Parkville, Victoria.

Why should you attend?

Building on the success of our inaugural ISMRT MRI Safety Day held in Brisbane in March 2024, which was a sold-out event, this year’s meeting promises to be just as impactful. Due to the overwhelming interest from MR radiographers, physicists, and clinicians who missed out on the first event, the ISMRT Australian National Chapter is thrilled to once again host world-renowned MRI safety expert, Dr. Frank Shellock, Ph.D., FACR, FISMRM.

The recent Australian Government announcement to deregulate and remove MR licensing will see a significant change in the Australian MR landscape over the next few years. The expected increase in MRI scanner installations and MRI professionals working in the field, will require an intensive focus on MR safety comprehension and training of staff working in and around MRI. Get in early and hear from the world’s MRI safety expert, Dr. Frank Shellock now!

This year’s event will include comprehensive panel discussions where expert radiologists and MR radiographers will join Dr Shellock to discuss pertinent clinical MRI safety challenges and solutions

The Australian and New Zealand National Chapters of the ISMRT are recognised leaders in providing high-quality education for MR technologists, radiographers, and health professionals. All profits from our ANZ educational events are reinvested into future educational opportunities in the region. As part of our commitment to advancing global MR education, 10% of the profits from this meeting will also be directed to the MRI Global Outreach Program in collaboration with the ISMRM. This initiative supports MR education and services in low- and lower-middle-income countries (LMIC), with recent efforts aiding professional development in Africa.
