Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) in Berlin, Germany, is the closest airport to the PTB in Charlottenburg, about 30 km (19 mi) away to the southeast and around 30 minutes away by car/taxi (fastest option), 1 hour by the transit system (train), and an hour and 15 mins. by bus. From Berlin Central Railway Station (Berlin Hauptbahnhof), you can go to PTB’s Berlin Institute…

• by BUS: Leave the station at the exit to Europaplatz, Invalidenstraße, and take Bus 245 (direction to Zoologischer Garten) and get off at Dovebrücke bus stop. Walk the way the bus was going as far as Abbestraße (about 100 m), after about 50 m you will see the entrance to PTB on the left-hand side of the street.
• by S-BAHN: From platform 16, take line S3 or S9 heading to Spandau Banhof, or line S5 heading to Westkreuz, or line S7 to Potsdam Hauptbahnhof. When you get to Berlin Zoologischer Garten Railway Station (Bahnhof Zoologischer Garten), change to the underground (U-Bahn) and travel to Ernst-Reuter-Platz or get the Bus M45 (stop: Otto-Suhr-Allee) or Bus 245 (see above).

Berlin is a bicycle-friendly city, and the PTB can be reached conveniently by bike from different directions. Several rental services for bicycles, electric bicycles (Dott, formerly Tier), or e-scooters (Lime, Dott, Bolt, Emmy) are available in the city; see an overview here.

Passengers arriving at Terminals 1 and 2: use the north and south taxi ranks in front of T1 on Level E0. There you will find licensed taxis. More information about taxi services at BER airport can be found here.
